Sorghum

Kanzo, formerly Armen Te Kort, is a project that involves creating pairs between people experiencing poverty and volunteers called 'buddies'. These pairs form an egalitarian friendship where the buddy supports the other person by helping them regain confidence, self-esteem, and independence. The idea is that this human connection, based on listening and encouragement, allows the person in difficulty to get their life back on track.

Vonk

Vonk offers short-term, accessible group support for young people aged 15 to 23 who are experiencing psychological distress (stress, anxiety, isolation, etc.). The young people are welcomed into a natural and soothing setting: a converted barn heated by a wood stove, where they participate in outdoor activities (helping on an organic farm, working with horses) and creative workshops (music, arts, etc.). A therapist also offers individual sessions. The goal is to prevent their distress from worsening by offering them a supportive environment before they completely lose touch with reality.

Nos oignons

Nos Oignons connects individuals experiencing mental health issues or addiction with organic farmers. On one hand, the farmer partner offers their land, knowledge, and time to others. On the other hand, there are people in distress who need to regain a rhythm and connections (for example, after hospitalisation, rehab, exile, or burnout). The idea is to reintegrate them into a more active and social life through working the land.

Plukgeluk

Pluk de Dag is a nature-based education project located in Linkeroever, aimed at children from vulnerable backgrounds aged 2 and over. Launched five years ago, it offers a rich environment (gardens, vegetable patch, pond, bicycles, sensory spaces) to allow children to grow in contact with nature through play and experience. It currently reaches 1,200 children per year, in partnership with local schools. For 2026, the project plans an educational kitchen and the development of an intergenerational component (children giving flowers to the elderly).

Godfather - friend

Parrain-Ami is an asbl (non-profit organisation) based in Ottignies, active for almost 30 years in Walloon Brabant and Brussels. It organises voluntary mentoring for children and young people (0-18 years old) experiencing family difficulties: specifically, a child spends a weekend a month with a mentoring family, or a teenager meets monthly with a designated adult, to create a stable emotional bond without replacing the parents. The asbl currently oversees around a hundred active mentoring relationships, receives approximately 100 applications per year and initiates between 15 and 25. For 2026, the ambitions are to launch at least 25 mentoring relationships, strengthen the Brussels branch, and celebrate the asbl's 30th anniversary by bringing together families and beneficiaries.

Youth & Work

Youth & Work is an organisation dedicated to supporting young people towards sustainable social and professional integration. Through training, educational projects, and practical activities, the organisation helps young people develop their skills, self-confidence, and autonomy. The programmes offered are specifically aimed at young people experiencing difficulties in their academic or professional journey. By offering them structured mentoring and concrete learning opportunities, Youth & Work Luxembourg helps to strengthen their future prospects and facilitate their integration into society and the labour market. We wish to support Youth & Work Luxembourg with €30,000 (1st year).

Woman in distress

Femmes en Détresse is a Luxembourgish organisation that supports women facing vulnerable situations, including victims of violence or social exclusion. The association develops various projects aimed at strengthening women’s autonomy, self-confidence, and integration. The Lénen Plooschter project is part of this approach by offering practical and accessible support: it enables women to learn to ride a bicycle or regain confidence in this skill. For some participants, mobility is a real barrier to accessing employment, services, or social life. By learning to get around by bike, participants gain independence, confidence, and freedom of movement. The project also creates a space for women to meet and receive support, fostering mutual aid and strengthening social ties. We wish to support Femmes en Détresse with €10,000 (1st year).

Hefboom

Hefboom is an organization that supports young people aged 12 to 25 who are facing family and social difficulties. The youth workers try to introduce the young people to manual labor in the center’s garden. They have set up a vegetable garden there and grow vegetables to make soup. This soup was then sold to the villagers using a donkey and a cart. The Foundation invested in the purchase of an electric tuk-tuk to facilitate the transport of the soup to the village.
